The cost to publish to both stores before any tool: Apple $99/year + Google $25 one-time. Paid directly to Apple and Google — no tool makes store publishing free.
Apple rejected about 23% of App Store submissions in 2025 — submissions, not apps, and over 387,000 were approved after an earlier rejection. Rejections are most often for functionality, privacy, crashes, or metadata. The pre-check is built to stop that.
Apple's Guideline 4.2 rejects webview wrapper apps for lacking native functionality. Choicely apps are real native, so they avoid the single biggest rejection trap.
Apple's own statement on App Review turnaround — Apple publishes no average in hours. Google publishes no review-time target at all, and says review can take up to seven days or longer for some accounts.
Google Play's closed-testing requirement for personal accounts created after 13 Nov 2023, before production. Google scopes the rule to personal accounts — the Assistant guides you either way.
The Publish Assistant pre-checks, builds the listing, and submits to both the App Store and Google Play from one place.

When you upgrade to publish, the Assistant checks your app against Apple's and Google's review rules and flags what to fix before you submit — then builds the store listing for both stores: title, description, screenshots, categories, content rating, and privacy details.
The Assistant walks the submission into the App Store and Google Play, guiding you through the developer-account steps (Apple's $99/year program, Google's $25 one-time registration) and tracking each store's review.
Apple's Developer Program is $99/year, and organizations must also hold a D-U-N-S number to verify the legal entity. Google Play charges a one-time $25 registration fee plus identity verification of the account holder. The Publish Assistant guides you through both.
Want the detail? We keep step-by-step guides for each part: creating an Apple Developer account, creating a Google Play developer account, publishing to the App Store, publishing on Google Play, what it costs, how long review takes and why apps get rejected.
Each store needs its own title, description, screenshots at the right sizes, an icon, a content rating, and a privacy declaration. The Assistant generates each listing to the store's requirements and pre-checks the common rejection causes.
Apple's Guideline 4.2 routinely rejects apps that are just a website in a wrapper. Choicely builds genuinely native iOS (Swift) and Android (Java) apps, so you clear the bar that stops most first-time submissions.
Before any tool enters the picture, publishing to both stores has a fixed shape and a real cost. About $124 in year one (Apple $99/year + Google $25 one-time), paid directly to Apple and Google. No tool — Choicely included — can make store publishing free; what a good one does is stop you burning that fee on rejected submissions.
"Despite Choicely being a no code platform, we got a fully tailormade app that matches our needs and our brand. Making improvements is quick and easy. We can focus on engaging our fans!"
"This product is clever and intuitive and can fulfil our needs for a responsive app built on native platforms. For the price, it is remarkable technology."
"With the help of Choicely, the app allows the Dancing With The Stars universe to expand and lets the audience really dive into an exclusive world of content and engaging features."
"The Choicely app is like a Swiss army knife for us, a multipurpose instrument.
Not only will it dramatically change the way voting is concluded on our entertainment programmes, and make sports broadcasts more fun and engaging, but will also become one of our most important channels for listening to what our users have to say."
Publishing means getting your app accepted into Apple's App Store and Google Play — two separate stores, each with its own account, listing rules, and review. It's where most first-time app owners get stuck: Apple rejected about 23% of the 9.1 million submissions it reviewed in 2025 — that counts submissions rather than apps, and one app may be submitted several times before it is approved.
The Publish Assistant is built to get you through on the first try: it pre-checks your app against both stores' published rules, generates the listings, and walks submission into both stores step by step.
One thing we state plainly: the Publish Assistant publishes apps built on Choicely. You build free, and the Assistant handles publishing — it is not a standalone service for apps built elsewhere.

Three honest routes to the stores. The store fees below (Apple $99/year, Google $25 one-time) are the same on every route — you always pay Apple and Google directly.
| Do it yourself | Managed "publish for me" | Choicely Publish Assistant | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you get | Learn both consoles, submit manually | A vendor submits an app you already built | Build + pre-check + listing + submission to both stores |
| Works with any existing app? | Yes — it's your app | Usually (agency-dependent) | No — publishes apps built on Choicely |
| Store fees (to Apple/Google) | $99/yr + $25 once | $99/yr + $25 once | $99/yr + $25 once |
| Tool/service cost | $0 (your time) | Per-project, often hundreds+ | From $25/mo (Business $50/mo) |
| Review-rule pre-check | You research it | Vendor-dependent | Yes — Apple & Google rules |
| Native, not webview? | Depends how you built it | Depends what you hand them | Yes — real native iOS & Android |
| Best for | Developers with time & CI | Owners of a finished non-Choicely app | Owners who want to build and ship in one place |
No route publishes for $0 — Apple and Google charge developer fees on every one. Full plan details on our pricing page.
Sources & disclosure: store fees, review data and requirements verified on Apple and Google official developer docs as of July 28, 2026; re-verified quarterly. Rejection figures come from Apple's 2025 App Store transparency report and count submissions, not apps — Apple notes an app may be submitted several times before approval. Review times come from Apple's App Review page and Google Play's review-times help page: Apple publishes no average in hours, only that 90% of submissions are reviewed in under 24 hours, and Google publishes no target at all. Choicely sells the Publish Assistant, so we have a commercial interest in it. Where you don't need us — you have a developer + CI, or an app built elsewhere — we say so on the page. Last updated: August 5, 2026.
It depends on the store's review. Apple states that 90% of submissions are reviewed in less than 24 hours, and publishes no average in hours. Google publishes no review-time target at all, and says review can take up to seven days or longer for some accounts. New personal Google Play accounts must also complete a 12-tester, 14-day closed test before production (Google scopes this rule to personal accounts created after 13 November 2023). Running the Publish Assistant's pre-check first keeps you from adding rejection rounds.
Before any tool, about $124 in year one: Apple’s Developer Program is $99/year and Google Play charges a one-time $25 fee, both paid directly to Apple and Google. No tool can make store publishing free. On Choicely, building and previewing a real native app is free (300 credits monthly, no card); publishing starts at Premium, $25/month.
Not with Choicely. Traditionally, submitting an iOS app meant using Xcode on a Mac. The Publish Assistant builds and submits your Choicely app for you, so you don't need a Mac or Xcode — you do still need an Apple Developer Program account ($99/year).
Either can publish, but they differ. An Apple organization account requires a D-U-N-S number to verify your legal entity; an individual account doesn’t. On Google Play, the 12-tester closed-testing requirement is scoped to personal accounts created after 13 November 2023 — Google does not mention organization accounts in that rule. Note the trade-off before switching: an organization account needs a D-U-N-S number, which can take up to 30 days to obtain, so it is not automatically the faster route to production.
Personal Google Play developer accounts created after 13 November 2023 must run a closed test with at least 12 testers, opted in for 14 continuous days, before they can publish an app to production. Google scopes the rule to personal accounts. The 14 days must be unbroken — dropping below 12 opted-in testers restarts the clock. The Publish Assistant guides you through setting this up if it applies to you.
Apple rejected about 23% of the 9.1 million submissions it reviewed in 2025 — that counts submissions rather than apps, and over 387,000 were approved after an earlier rejection, so a rejection is usually a round trip rather than a verdict. The most common causes are minimum-functionality or webview-wrapper issues (Apple Guideline 4.2), privacy problems, crashes, and metadata mistakes. The Assistant pre-checks against these before you submit, and because Choicely builds real native apps rather than webview wrappers, you avoid the biggest rejection trap.
Only apps built on Choicely. The Publish Assistant is the publishing layer for the Choicely builder — it pre-checks, lists, and submits the app you build with us. It is not a standalone service that submits an app you built elsewhere.
Real native. Choicely generates native iOS and Android apps, not a website wrapped in an app shell — which matters because Apple's Guideline 4.2 routinely rejects webview wrappers for lacking native functionality.
