Emergent vs Lovable vs Choicely

The AI App Builder Comparison

Build a real native app — free to start

Describe your app and Choicely builds it as a native iOS and Android app you can publish to the App Store and Google Play.

Which AI App Builder Is Best in 2026?

Emergent and Lovable are both pitched the same way: describe your app, and AI builds it. Look a little closer and they are built for different jobs.

Lovable builds full-stack web apps. Its own FAQ says it does not generate React Native projects, so a phone app means a progressive web app or wrapping the site with another tool.

Emergent uses AI agents to build web apps and, unlike Lovable, mobile apps too: it generates Expo (React Native) apps and runs the iOS and Android builds for you.

So the question under most Emergent vs Lovable searches is really “what am I shipping?” If it is a browser app, those two are the comparison. If it is an app for the App Store and Google Play that you will keep updating, a third option built only for that job belongs in it: Choicely, which builds native iOS and Android apps.

This page compares all three on output, pricing (checked on each vendor’s own site on October 29, 2026), AI, publishing and support, and says plainly where Emergent or Lovable is the better choice.

How we scored

Each platform is judged on what changes a buying decision: what it actually outputs (web app, React Native app or native app), how you get to the App Store and Google Play, how updates ship, what the AI can do, pricing, and the help you get. Where a vendor does not document something, we leave it out rather than guess.

Commercial disclosure

Choicely publishes this comparison, so we have a commercial interest in one of the three tools. We have tried to represent Emergent and Lovable accurately and to name the cases where each of them is the better choice. Where Choicely is the wrong tool, we say so.

Review cadence

Pricing and AI capabilities in this category change quickly. We re-verify the claims on this page on a recurring basis. Confirm current pricing on each vendor’s own site before you decide.

How Emergent, Lovable, and Choicely Compare at a Glance

The matrix below maps to the feature comparison further down.

The rows are the ones that change the decision once you know whether you are shipping a web app or a store app.

We’ve shaded the strongest fit in each row, including rows where Choicely is not the answer, because a comparison you can trust has to point both ways.

Winner Draw Behind
Emergent Lovable Choicely
iOS and Android apps for the stores Builds Expo (React Native) mobile apps; its managed pipeline produces the .ipa and .aab files. Native builds need a paid plan. Web apps only; Lovable does not generate React Native. A phone app means a PWA or wrapping the site with a tool outside Lovable. Native iOS (Swift) and Android (Java) apps, built for the App Store and Google Play from one project.
Web app from the same project Web and mobile apps in one project sharing one backend (web-to-mobile conversion is still rolling out). Web is its home ground: full-stack web apps, with new apps rendered on the server. Built for mobile apps. If the deliverable is only a web app, Choicely is the wrong tool.
Updates without a new store release No over-the-air updates: every change, JavaScript-only changes included, ships as a new build through the stores. Changes go live with a web re-publish; there is no store app to update. Content and feature changes go live in the app without waiting for an App Store review.
Getting into the stores Managed signing and builds; iOS builds upload to TestFlight for you. You submit in App Store Connect and Play Console. No store path inside Lovable. Publish Assistant prepares store listings, pre-checks the app and guides you; you submit under your own developer accounts.
Ready-made features Generated from prompts for each app. Generated from prompts for each app. Voting, polls, ratings, battles, reactions, paid voting and more, ready to add to your app.
Code you can take elsewhere Emergent says you own the generated code; GitHub integration on paid plans, and you can download and host it anywhere. Download the codebase on paid plans, or keep a repository in sync with Git sync. A hosted platform: you build and update in Choicely Studio, with an SDK for deeper customization, rather than taking a codebase elsewhere.
Advanced AI controls Pro adds a 1M context window, custom AI agents and system prompt editing. Plan mode costs 1 credit per message; default mode credits vary with the task. AI chat plus a drag-and-drop visual editor; Premium adds Pro AI models.
Starting price Free: 10 credits a month. Standard $20/month for 100 credits; a published app costs from 50 credits a month. Free: 5 credits a day, up to 30 a month. Pro $25/month for 100 credits plus the daily 5. Free: 25 credits a day, up to 150 a month, plus 100 at sign-up. Premium $25/month for 1,000 credits.

A note on output type and credits. Emergent’s mobile apps are Expo (React Native) apps compiled into real store builds, not a website in a wrapper, which puts Emergent ahead of Lovable for anyone who needs the App Store. Lovable builds web apps only. Choicely builds native iOS and Android apps. Credits are not comparable across the three: each vendor sizes and spends its credits differently, so compare plans on the work you expect to do, not the credit count.

Platform Overviews

Emergent

Emergent is an AI app builder in which AI agents design, code and deploy an application through conversation. It builds web apps and mobile apps; its mobile apps are Expo (React Native) apps, and it runs the iOS and Android builds for you on a paid plan.

Web and mobile apps can share one backend in one project, and Emergent says you own the code it generates, with GitHub integration and the option to host it anywhere.

It’s best for founders and builders who want one AI tool for a full-stack product on both web and mobile, and who are comfortable that every app update goes back through the stores.

Lovable

Lovable is an AI builder that turns a chat into a full-stack web app, with a built-in backend or Supabase behind it. New apps created since May 2026 render on the server.

Lovable states that it does not generate React Native projects. To get onto a phone, you make the web app a progressive web app or wrap its URL with a tool such as Capacitor outside Lovable.

It’s best for founders who want a working web app or prototype fast, whose deliverable lives in a browser, and who value a codebase they can download or sync with Git.

Choicely

Choicely is an AI app builder that produces native iOS (Swift) and Android (Java) apps from a natural-language prompt or a drag-and-drop visual editor, with an optional in-house team for design and build work.

Content and feature changes go live in the app without a new store release, and voting, polling and other engagement features are built in.

It’s used by Eurovision, Miss Universe and Got Talent, among others. It’s best for businesses, creators and founders shipping a consumer-facing app to the App Store and Google Play that they will keep updating.

Feature Comparison

Each subsection below maps to the comparison above. We use the same per-platform format throughout, so you can scan one dimension at a time.

Strategic Goal

What is each platform fundamentally trying to do?

Emergent's approach

  • Let AI agents build a complete product, web and mobile, through conversation.
  • Serve builders who want one tool for the frontend, backend and deployment.
  • Philosophy: the agent does the engineering; you steer it.

Lovable's approach

  • Turn a chat into a working full-stack web app as fast as possible.
  • Serve founders and teams whose product lives in the browser.
  • Philosophy: anyone should be able to build for the web.

Choicely's approach

  • Give non-technical teams a native iOS and Android app, built by AI chat and refined in a visual editor.
  • Serve consumer-facing apps where the App Store, Google Play and live engagement matter.
  • Philosophy: a store app is a different deliverable from a website and deserves a purpose-built platform.

Scope and Output Type

Output type is the single highest-impact difference in this comparison. Read this section first if you read only one.

Emergent's approach

  • Web apps, plus mobile apps built with Expo (React Native) and compiled into iOS and Android store builds.
  • A web project can be converted to mobile, sharing the same backend; the feature is still rolling out and excludes Next.js projects.
  • Best when you want web and mobile from one AI tool and accept store releases for every update.

Lovable's approach

  • Full-stack web apps only; Lovable does not generate React Native projects.
  • Mobile reach is a progressive web app, or the published URL wrapped with a tool such as Capacitor outside Lovable.
  • Best when the deliverable lives in a browser, not the App Store.

Choicely's approach

  • Native iOS (Swift) and Android (Java) apps from one project.
  • Push notifications on every plan; in-app purchases and dynamic links on Premium.
  • Best when the deliverable is a consumer-facing app in the stores, not a web app or internal tool.

Pricing

Prices as listed on each vendor’s own site on October 29, 2026, in US dollars. Credits are not comparable across vendors.

Emergent's approach

  • Free $0 with 10 credits a month. Standard $20/month (about $17/month billed annually) with 100 credits, GitHub integration and web and mobile builds.
  • Pro $200/month (about $167/month billed annually) with 750 credits, a 1M context window and custom AI agents. Business and Enterprise on request.
  • A published app runs on a hosting tier billed in credits, from 50 credits a month; credits are also spent on code generation, testing and integrations.

Lovable's approach

  • Free with 5 credits a day, up to 30 a month.
  • Pro from $25/month (about $21/month billed annually) for 100 credits, with rollovers; Business from $50/month adds SSO and team controls. Both include 5 daily credits.
  • Hosting small apps is usually covered by an included Cloud grant; heavy traffic draws on your credit balance.

Choicely's approach

  • Free $0 with 25 credits a day, up to 150 a month, plus 100 credits at sign-up.
  • Premium $25/month for 1,000 credits with rollovers and top-ups; Business $50/month adds business-grade AI models and priority support.
  • Enterprise is custom-priced and includes design and build services.

Setup and Onboarding

Emergent's approach

  • Describe the app in chat and the agents plan, code and test it; you preview mobile apps with Expo Go or cloud device streaming.
  • Store builds need your own Apple Developer and Google Play Console accounts.
  • The build pipeline runs in Emergent’s cloud, so no Mac is required for iOS.

Lovable's approach

  • Fastest first run here for a web app: a working app from a prompt in minutes.
  • No store accounts needed, because there is no store app.
  • Refining the output well rewards some familiarity with web code.

Choicely's approach

  • AI chat produces a working app preview in minutes; the visual editor refines it.
  • Store publishing needs your own Apple and Google developer accounts; Publish Assistant guides you through it.
  • No CLI, terminal or Git required: the build happens in the browser.

Use of AI

Emergent's approach

  • AI agents handle design, coding, testing and deployment from the conversation.
  • Pro adds a 1M context window, “ultra thinking”, system prompt editing and custom AI agents.
  • One-click LLM integration lets the app itself call AI models.

Lovable's approach

  • AI is the primary interface: chat builds the app, with a Plan mode for thinking a change through first.
  • Credit cost per message varies with the size of the task.
  • AI features can also be built into your own app, paid from the same credit balance.

Choicely's approach

  • Conversational AI chat builds the native app; the visual editor handles refinement.
  • Premium adds Pro AI models; Business adds business-grade models and extended AI context.
  • The in-house team is a human fallback when you want something more custom.

Integrations

Emergent's approach

  • Web and mobile share one MongoDB database, backend and login when built in one project.
  • Emergent-managed push notifications with your own APNs and Firebase credentials; in-app purchases and subscriptions are documented.
  • Some payment integrations differ by platform: Stripe and Paystack are hidden on Expo projects.

Lovable's approach

  • Backend from Lovable’s built-in backend, Supabase, or third-party APIs.
  • Git sync keeps a repository in step, so developers can extend the code in any tool.
  • There is no native app, so store-side features such as App Store in-app purchases are out of scope.

Choicely's approach

  • Third-party API connections on every plan; Supabase, Shopify and GitHub among the listed integrations.
  • Push notifications and in-app purchases are part of the native app, not bolt-ons.
  • SDK available for deeper customization and for embedding Choicely in your own native apps.

Ease of Use

Emergent's approach

  • Approachable for non-developers, with chat in the browser or in Emergent’s own phone app.
  • Store releases are your job after each build: upload, review and testing requirements on Google Play still apply.

Lovable's approach

  • Easiest first day for a web app: type a prompt, see an app.
  • Lovable also has iOS and Android apps for building from your phone.

Choicely's approach

  • Two ways to build: AI chat for the first draft, a visual editor for clean refinement, and you can mix both.
  • Day-to-day content and design changes happen in the browser without code.

Updates and Scale

Emergent's approach

  • Hosting tiers run from 0.05 vCPU and 200 MB at 50 credits a month to larger tiers for production traffic.
  • No over-the-air updates: every mobile change ships as a new build and store submission.

Lovable's approach

  • Web changes go live on re-publish, with no review cycle.
  • Apps with significant traffic start paying for hosting from the credit balance.

Choicely's approach

  • Content and feature changes go live in the app without waiting on App Store review, which matters for live events and daily content.
  • Built for live-event audiences: apps for Eurovision, Miss Universe and Got Talent run on Choicely.

Customer Support

Emergent's approach

  • A public help center and a support email address; priority customer support on Pro.
  • Enterprise adds a priority SLA, audit logs and deployment in your own cloud.

Lovable's approach

  • Email support on Pro; priority support on Business.
  • Enterprise adds directory sync (SCIM) and audit logs.

Choicely's approach

  • Email support on Premium; priority support on Business.
  • Enterprise adds dedicated support, onboarding, and an in-house team for design and build.

When is Emergent the better fit?

Emergent is the stronger choice when: you want AI agents to build the whole product, frontend, backend and database, and you want a web app and a mobile app from the same project. You want the generated code in GitHub so a developer can pick it up later. You are comfortable that every mobile update goes back through App Store and Google Play review, and you don’t need ready-made engagement features. If you need custom agents or a very large context window for complex logic, Emergent’s Pro plan offers both.

In short, Emergent wins when you want one AI tool for a web app and a mobile app with a shared backend, and code you can take with you.

When is Lovable the better fit?

Lovable is the stronger choice when: your product is a web app, a SaaS tool, a dashboard or a site, and you want a working version from a chat in an afternoon. You want a codebase you can download or keep in sync with Git so a developer can extend it. You don’t need the App Store: a progressive web app or a mobile-friendly site is enough for your users. Of the three, Lovable is the most focused on the web, and its entry price is the same as Choicely’s Premium.

In short, Lovable wins on speed from a prompt to a working web app, when the browser is where your users are.

When is Choicely the better fit?

Choicely is the stronger choice when: you need a native iOS and Android app in the App Store and Google Play, not a web app. You will change the app’s content often, for events, news, voting or a season, and want those changes live without a new store review each time. You want engagement features such as voting, polling and ratings from day one, and Publish Assistant to prepare your listings and guide the submission you make under your own developer accounts. You want an in-house team available when you need design, custom integrations or a full build.

In short, Choicely wins when the deliverable is a native app in the stores that you will keep updating for a real audience.

Emergent vs Lovable vs Choicely: Who to Choose?

Three concrete conditions per platform. Match yours to the column that fits.

Choose Emergent if

  • You want a web app and a mobile app from one AI tool, sharing one backend.
  • You want generated code in GitHub that a developer can take over.
  • Store releases for every update are fine for your app.

Choose Lovable if

  • Your deliverable is a web app, SaaS tool or prototype that lives in the browser.
  • You want the fastest path from a prompt to a working web app.
  • A progressive web app or mobile-friendly site is enough on phones.

Choose Choicely if

  • You need a native iOS and Android app in the App Store and Google Play.
  • You will update content often and want changes live without a new store review.
  • You want built-in engagement features and a team to lean on.

Our assessment

The verdict, stated plainly

Emergent vs Lovable comes down to one question: does your product need to be in the app stores? Lovable builds for the web; Emergent builds for the web and for the stores. Choicely builds only native apps for the stores.

  • Choose Emergent if you want one AI tool for a full-stack web app and an Expo mobile app, with code you can take to GitHub.
  • Choose Lovable if your product lives in the browser and you want the fastest path from a prompt to a working web app.
  • Choose Choicely if the deliverable is a native iOS and Android app that you will keep updating live, with engagement features and a team available when you need help.

Where Choicely is not the answer

If you only need a web app, an internal tool or a quick prototype, Choicely is the wrong tool, and Lovable or Emergent will serve you better. If owning a codebase you can move is your top priority, choose Emergent or Lovable. We’d rather you pick the right tool than the wrong one with our name on it.
