Here’s how to create a one-on-one vote, also called a “battle”, a vote between two options.
The main steps are:
- Create a 1vs1 and add choices
- Finalize settings and launch
- Embed the 1vs1 and follow results
1. Create a 1vs1 and add choices
Go to “contests” (1A) and click “create contest” (1B)

Choose “1vs1” (1C). Change the cover image by clicking on it (1D).

You can choose an image from ready-made libraries (1E) or your images, and you can upload your own images (1F). Click on the image you’d like to use (1G) and click select (1H)

Instead of an image, you can also use a cover video or cover photo to introduce the options (1I).
Define the basic information for your 1vs1 contest:
- The name of the contest (1J)
- Introduction text (1J)
- Start and end dates of the 1vs1 (1K)

At the bottom of the screen you can add the two choices that users vote on (1L).
-webp.webp?width=688&height=390&name=1vs1%20(4)-webp.webp)
You once again have the same options to use ready-made libraries or upload your own images (1M).
-webp.webp?width=688&height=389&name=1vs1%20(5)-webp.webp)
Edit the choices:
- Edit participants’ profiles by clicking on them on the list.
- Add a title, such as the participant’s name, country, or a number (1N)
-webp.webp?width=688&height=389&name=1vs1%20(6)-webp.webp)
On the right-hand menu you can adjust settings for the 1vs1, including:
- The styles, how the choices are shown (2A)
-webp.webp?width=688&height=389&name=1vs1%20(7)-webp.webp)
- When results are shown (2B):
- “Always” shows the voting results at all times
- “Never” never shows the results
- “After vote” shows the results to the voter right after they have voted
- “Hide till the end” shows the results when the voting ends
- “Until reveal” shows the results on the publish date
-webp.webp?width=688&height=389&name=1vs1%20(8)-webp.webp)
- Customizing the voting button (2C)
- Defining if the voter needs to have Choicely account or not (2D)
- Whether the 1vs1 is private or public (2E)
-webp.webp?width=688&height=389&name=1vs1%20(9)-webp.webp)
Click Save when you’re ready. You can still edit the 1vs1 after publishing – just remember to save any changes.
That’s it – your 1vs1 is complete!
3. Share the 1vs1 and follow the results
You can now:
- Link it in your app
- Embed it on your website by going to the “widget” section (3A)
-webp.webp?width=688&height=389&name=1vs1%20(10)-webp.webp)
- Adjust the visuals and preview it (3B)
-webp.webp?width=688&height=389&name=1vs1%20(11)-webp.webp)
- Copy the embed code from the right menu (3C, 3D)
-webp.webp?width=688&height=390&name=1vs1%20(12)-webp.webp)
