Voting is a decisive element in beauty pageants, literally. Being one of the most prominent and spectacular beauty pageants in the world, the quality and reliability demands for Miss Universe apps and voting tools are steep.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with the Miss Universe organization since 2019.
The collaboration kicked off when Miss Universe chose Choicely web voting tools. Our co-operation soon expanded as the Miss Universe chose us as their mobile app provider.
At this point several other national and international pageants used apps made with Choicely app builder. When we had our first meeting with Miss Universe, they were impressed with how they looked and compared to their current solution. Miss Universe ended up choosing Choicely as the best beauty pageant app in the market.
Record-breaking beauty pageants and millions of app downloads
On April 1st, 2021 Miss Universe launched its global Miss Universe app, the first app made with Choicely app builder. This all-time 69th pageant was record-breaking for Miss Universe history – the global vote was by far the largest fan vote in Miss Universe history.
People from over 200 countries were voting their favorite delegates to support their journey to the TOP21. The winner of the fan vote was Vietnam, and the result was announced in the Miss Universe final show.
The Miss Universe app also had a royal welcome from the global fan base and the app was downloaded more than 3 million times in the first 5 weeks after the app launch. The global fan base was also able to vote on a website.
On top of the main vote, the app provided a popular National Costume vote for the last few days. The vote was hosted simultaneously in missuniverse.com website, to enable maximum exposure and easiness to participate for the global fan base.
Miss Universe has used Choicely apps since the pageant in spring 2021, and we’ve seen great shows and fan votes together.

With Choicely, Miss Universe has grown engagement and revenue among its fanbase and sponsors. The organization now has an app that works globally, can scale up to high volumes of users and votes, and can be edited on the fly with an easy-to-use app builder.
We’re honored to have been chosen by Miss Universe as their app and voting tool provider, and we’re continuously developing the services together with the Miss Universe team.
The next pageant will be the 72nd in Miss Universe history, to be held El Salvador on 18 November 2023. The voting for the pageant has already started.
