Transform your website into a mobile app in just two minutes with Choicely's new AI-powered tool, developed in collaboration with Netlight and Google Gemini.
Choicely, the no-code app builder platform empowering companies to launch beautiful and functional apps without developers, has taken a major step into the future of app creation. In a successful AI pilot project with consulting firm Netlight, Choicely developed a new content-fetching AI chat tool that turns websites into mobile apps in just two minutes.
The project was led by John Anderson, a Netlight consultant who joined the Choicely product team for the duration of the five-week sprint.
“The project has been a fantastic experience. Within just a few weeks, we successfully implemented an agent-based architecture while also integrating key user experience features such as streaming and app previews.”, says John Anderson of Netlight. “It was a pleasure collaborating with the entire Choicely team – the energy and enthusiasm throughout the project were exceptionally positive.”
The Choicely team is very pleased with the results of the project. The project was overseen by Choicely CTO Tommy Eklund.
“We want to thank Netlight and especially John Anderson for an inspiring and fruitful partnership,” says Tommy Eklund. “What excites me most is how powerful and easy-to-use Google Gemini AI turned out to be – it unlocked a whole new kind of experience for building apps.”
The result of the collaboration is a fast, intuitive AI chat tool powered by Google Gemini AI – Google’s most advanced multimodal AI, capable of understanding and generating text, code, images, and more.
“Gemini was a natural choice given our existing relationship with Google and the proven reliability of Google Cloud across our tech stack. Gemini demonstrated exceptional performance for this use case, delivering rapid processing speeds and effective reasoning over complex image, code, and text data. Additionally, it excels at generating structured outputs, which we seamlessly integrated into the Choicely backend.”, says Anderson.
Users simply input the website address they'd like to pull content from. The AI then crawls the site, fetches the content, and automatically turns it into native app content and organizes the content neatly into logical feeds. The result is a mobile app that can be further edited in the Choicely App Builder and previewed with mobile devices.
And the entire process takes about two minutes.

Unlike typical AI chatbots that answer questions or summarize content, this tool is designed to create. The user experience is familiar – resembling an AI chat – but the purpose is more ambitious: to build actual apps and editable content.
Throughout the pilot project, the team focused on validating two key aspects:
The Proof of Concept (PoC) set out to achieve three things:
The five-week pilot followed an agile sprint format:
By the final week, the team had delivered a working prototype that not only impressed internal stakeholders – but also revealed just how scalable this approach could be.
“This was a fantastic collaboration and a very successful project – but it's also just the beginning,” says Kaius Meskanen, CEO of Choicely. “We’re now in a strong position to continue building AI features that transform the way apps are created.”
Choicely is now rolling out Choicely AI as a public beta version. The best fit users for Choicely AI are news outlets, magazines, online media and any content-heavy websites.
This is just the beginning. The collaboration with Netlight and the power of Google Gemini AI have opened the door to a future where app creation is radically simpler and faster.
Stay tuned. The future of app development is arriving faster than you think.
